Hi digitalfreaknyc, The feature still works, you just have to set a default number for it to work. To set the default number, find the contact you want to slide to call, tap on the contact, tap Menu....

IMHO the battery drain is more under 4.1.2. Though I suspect this is only because there are more things running, such as multi-window. I notice now I'm around 65% battery after 3 hours of use or so....
